Costumers of Atlanta

Last fall Chris came to the realization there are a lot of veteran cosplayers in Atlanta, and joked how it would be funny if we could get them all together in a photo, especially given the venomous reputation that cosplayers have of not liking one another. I thought it was a great idea and began contacting all the girls I knew locally to be part of this photo shoot. They were all excited to join in, and after trying to coordinate schedules,  a few girls still unable to make it, but we managed to wrangle7 of us.  The premise was that it was to be a Vanity Fair photo shoot, but I wanted a couple of photos since it was such a rare opportunity to be together and not be at a convention. So it seemed obvious the first one was all of us in relatively the same outfits, of course with minor personal tastes, then I asked each girl to pick a costume they feel they are most well known for (at that time). The last photo which is my favorite is basically poking fun at all the clichés that many cosplayers hear about themselves and others on the net.  Cosplay is Serious Business. I had never organized a shoot with so many people. So I can’t thank each lady enough for donating their time to come into the shoot. The last photo we titled "The 7 Sins of Cosplay" Idleambition (Trap) is usually thought of a man impersonating a female character in costume, "He would still be hotter then you." Riddle – (Binge and Purge). Was brought over from the modeling world to the cosplay world in the early 90’s, so that cosplayers could indulge in geek cuisine without having to exercising to fit into costumes. Yaya – (Back Stabber) It’s considered the original and most serious of the 7 deadly sins. Alisa Chan – (Cry Baby) Feelings of hopelessness, despondency, and impending doom, “fucking 4chan.” Miracole – (Ageism) It’s rumored that only cosplayers lie about their age. “She’s shouldn’t be allowed to cosplay, she is over 21” Cathy & Meredith – (Rivalry) This in its purest form, presents with self-destructiveness, violence, and hate that may provoke online post that can go on for centuries. Phoenix

A 24 hour project with Idleambition. Concept was a Phoenix rising from the ashes, Idle Ambition did the costume, concept, photos and editing all within 24 hours, it was a fun project to crawl around a burnt down house and have them bury me in rubble.

Billy from Billy & Mandy

I was asked to come in to help Turner/Cartoon network with a costume segment. They had a costume made but not someone small enough to be in it. I was so sick this day, I had a blade of glory moment when I almost threw up in my head cause of already being ill, jumping and fake smoke. I made it to the washroom though! The last picture was a joke, despite the rumors I like to pee in private.

Geisha

When I was visiting Japan, I really wanted to enjoy the experiance of dressing up as a Geisha. When I was in Kyoto I found a place that was tucked in the Gion district and was an use to be a Geisha House itself. After they dressed me up I got to go outside and take pictures in the only day is snowed the whole time we were there.
